Student Assessment & Reporting

Assessment

At St Joseph's teachers identify and gather a wide range of evidence to make informed judgements and student learning, progress, and achievement.  Student assessment data forms an integral element of the teaching and learning cycle and informs the next teaching steps for each individual student.

In Brisbane Catholic Education, assessment is undertaken using the approved Australian and Religious Curriculum P-12.

Reporting

Student learning achievement is formally reported on twice a year and is made available to parents in a Semester 1 and Semester 2 report card.  Student report cards indicate an individual student's achievement, on a 5-point scale, against the Australian and Religious Curriculum P-12.

Parents teacher conversations are also offered twice a year.  Parent teacher conversations are an opportunity for parents to meet with their child's classroom teachers to foster strong working relationships between home and school and discuss specific ways to continue to support the learning and wellbeing of each student.
