ANZAC Day

Next Wednesday 24th April at 9am we will pause and commemorate ANZAC Day as a school in the Sr Jenny Centre. Parents are welcome to attend.

On Thursday 25 April, all families are invited to march and participate in the Beenleigh ANZAC Day March and Commemorative Service at the Beenleigh War Memorial. Students are asked to march in their formal school uniform including their school hat. Families can gather in York Street from 9:10am. The march will begin at 9:30am. Our school leaders will hold our school banners. Parents are welcome to walk with their children, especially our younger students in P-2. When we reach the War Memorial, children will need to be collected and parents will be responsible for the supervision of their children if staying for the service which begins at 10am. We look forward to having as many students and families participating as possible as we honour the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country and our very strong connection to the story of the Rats of the Tobruk from which our school is named.

Prayer for ANZAC Day

God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, which was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who have served and continue to serve in times of war or be peacekeepers in other countries. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come. That the liberty, truth and justice which they have sought and continue to preserve may be seen and known in all the nations upon earth. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
