🏆 St Joey’s Term 3 Sports Wrap-Up! 🏆
What a term it’s been for our St Joey’s sporting superstars! From athletics tracks to gala days, our students have been giving it their all, showing off their skills, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Here’s a snapshot of the action-packed term:
Athletics All-Stars
Beenleigh Zone Athletics: 36 students competed, with 15 qualifying for the Championship Day and St Joey’s taking home the overall Percentage Trophy!
Championship Day: Special shoutout to Marlina E-N and Tama B for making the Beenleigh Zone team and competing at Pacific District and South Coast carnivals.
Catholic Zone Athletics: Over 40 students represented us in Division 1, smashing PBs and earning Top 4 finishes!
Gala Day Greatness
Basketball: Our teams shone at the Molten CBSQ tournament, with the girls going undefeated! Players’ Player awards went to Georgia C, Isla K, Max A, and Godfrey P.
Netball: Two teams competed at the Western Districts Gala, and Georgia C & Ivy R even met Queensland Firebirds co-captain Hulita Veve!
Touch Football: 70+ students hit the Yarrabilba Carnival, playing their hearts out and making us proud.
Soccer: Grade 5 & 6 teams competed at Pacific Pines, with Grade 5 making the finals and showing true Joeys grit.
Monday Sport & More
Trinity College Matches: Grade 5 & 6 students trained hard and put their skills to the test in Basketball and Touch Football against Trinity College.
Prep–2 Sports Day & League Stars: Our youngest Joeys had a blast with fun activities and Rugby League Tag sessions, cheered on by our awesome Grade 6 helpers.
Before School Run Club: Students from Grades 3–6 clocked up their laps and finished the year strong!
Individual Achievements
Macy (Grade 5): Danced her way to gold in the USA, winning multiple routines and ranking in the top 20 for her age group!
Georgia (Grade 6): Played up two age groups at State Age Netball Champs and was named player of the match!
Elijah (Grade 1): Youngest competitor for Beenleigh TSKF Karate, earning podium finishes at regionals and state!
Cooper (Grade 3): Racing go-karts for a sponsored team, already a club champion!
Tae Kwon Do Crew: Many students earned new belts after months of dedication.
Blake E & Max A: Nominated for the REES-WILLIAMS Junior Boy Award for kindness, respect, and values in basketball.
