Two St Joseph’s students are heading to the Pacific District Championships after outstanding performances at the Beenleigh Zone Athletics Championships, highlighting the opportunities available through our school’s representative sport pathways.
After several postponements due to wet weather, students from St Joseph’s finally had the opportunity to compete at the Beenleigh Zone Athletics Championships last week. Representing the school with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship, our athletes competed against some of the strongest competitors from across the Beenleigh Zone.
Among the standout performers were Marlina, who claimed 1st place in Shot Put, and Tama, who achieved 2nd place in High Jump. Their strong performances have earned them qualification to the Pacific District Championships, where they will continue their representative athletics journey.
At St Joseph’s, we are proud to support students in pursuing their sporting passions and reaching their potential. Events such as the Beenleigh Zone Athletics Championships form an important part of the representative school sport pathway, providing students with opportunities to progress through Pacific District, Regional and State Championships.
These pathways not only allow students to test themselves against high-performing athletes, but also help develop resilience, confidence, discipline and teamwork—skills that benefit them both on and off the sporting field.
