St Joseph's Tobruk Memorial School is proud to celebrate James Buckley, who has been named a finalist in the NGS Super Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in Primary School at the 2026 BCE Excellence Awards.

The BCE Excellence Awards recognise outstanding service, leadership and commitment to the Catholic mission and values across Brisbane Catholic Education. From 633 nominations across 116 schools and the Brisbane Catholic Education Office, 127 individuals and 22 teams were selected as finalists. James is one of just 17 finalists in his award category.

James was recognised for his engaging, evidence-based teaching practices and his dedication to helping every student succeed. His work to improve reading outcomes has helped students build confidence, motivation and achievement.

Known for bringing creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom, James creates learning experiences that inspire curiosity and make learning meaningful for his students. He also shares his knowledge with colleagues, helping to foster a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement at St Joseph's.

We congratulate James on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for the positive impact he continues to make in the lives of our students and school community.
